The Sleek and Quick Devin D

The Sleek and Quick Devin D

Bill Devin was a interesting car guy who built many Devin Bodies in Fontana, California. Bodies were fabricated for use on just about any European chassis. He advertised them in automotive magazines for just $295.00. In 1959 he decided to build his own chassis and complete cars. There were a few Devin SS cars built with Corvette power, and around 40 of these Devin D’s for VW or Porsche power.

Owned and raced by Arthur Conner, this car is powered by a Porsche 356 engine mated to a Rancho VW type 1 transaxle fit with a close ratio gear set and a limited slip diff. It is Vintage raced on the West Coast, fairly quick and lots of fun.
