While cheapo transaxles are always a bad idea, many times damage like this is caused by neglect. All transmissions should have regular service but when you’re running your machine hard an abundance of maintenance and service can spare you from facing the big bucks to fix a mess like this. Take care of your trans and it will, with few exceptions, serve you well.
