Great time at Rancho last week as AZN from the hit reality series, Street Outlaws, flew out from Oklahoma to have Shan do a final fitting for the aluminum racing seat in Dung Beetle. Shan has been working on the car here at Rancho for about 6 month and literally turned a death trap into a serious tail wager. New 400+ horse engine from Shawn Geers, Rancho trans, JAMAR discs, full custom roll cage, fuel cell and so much more. The car was always a hit on the show as a nasty little underdog always on the hunt for another victim, but a couple seasons under AZN’s lead foot had stretched the stock 60’s VW chassis to the limit. AZN and best friend Farm Truck are the virtual backbone, of the Discovery Channel’s immensely popular series Street Outlaws, and there’s good reason. These guys are in it for the fun and will do just about anything for a laugh while providing a sense of comic relief to a show that gets a little to uptight at times. At those tense moments all the producers have to do is call in the boys, AZN and Farm Truck, and smiles and hi jinx rule. Their rides, Dung Beetle the rancid VW and Farm Truck sporting cow sh=t on its tires are just plain awesome, a couple of junk yard dogs with attitude. I once remember seeing AZN put the hurt on a new Lamborghini right down Main Street while out on the interstate Farm Truck womped and stomped  all over a Porsche 911 Turbo while pulling his fishing boat!! Just doesn’t get any better than that.
